I'd love to work with Salman Khan: Milla Jovovich

Milla and Salman
Los Angeles, Sep 28 (IANS) Salman Khan's popularity seems to have infected Hollywood too. Actress Milla Jovovich has not only seen the Bollyood star's 'Bodyguard', she is also impressed with his sturdy looks and would love to work with him. 'I am really very convinced with the growing affinity of Indian audiences to action films. Recently I got an opportunity to view 'Bodyguard' of Salman Khan, and I am really amazed with his sturdiest look in the movie and the action scenes played by him,' said Jovovich in an e-mail interaction.
'I would love to work with him if given a chance,' added the actress who will be seen in 'The Three Musketeers', directed by her husband Paul W.S. Anderson.
She loves doing action sequences herself.
'I just love watching beautiful women kick butt. It's so inspiring. You know, as a kid I never got off on seeing big, muscular men with guns. But women doing martial arts seem very natural,' said the 35-year-old, who has films like 'The Fifth Element', 'Zoolander' and 'Resident Evil' series to her credit.
'People love me doing action movies and that's awesome. I am very serious about my career and I still get to do my independent films. I'm very happy,' she added.
The film, releasing Oct 14, talks about Porthos, Athos and Aramis who served the king of France as his best musketeers. After discovering an evil conspiracy to overthrow the king, the musketeers come across a young, aspiring hero, D'Artagnan, and take him under their wing. Together, the four embark on a mission to bust the plot that not only threatens the crown, but the future of Europe itself.
Shot in 3D, 'Three Musketeers' will see Jovovich as Milady de Winter and the actress is quite upbeat about her role.
'For me, one of the most interesting elements about Milady de Winter is that she's this unbelievably modern 17th-century woman. Imagine how hard it is for a woman to get a leg up today in the corporate world, or any field,' said Jovovich.
'She is a woman navigating a man's world when normally women were dependent on their father, son or husband. You couldn't even have your own finances. She travels unattended to different countries, she is a spy and she is the best at what she does. She doesn't want to marry and have kids and move to the country,' she said.
Jovovich says this is a different version of the 'Three Musketeers' and that: 'It's completely new and people have never seen something like this before... it showcases the new generations of three muskeeters which takes the spirit of the book and imagination and theme with the help of writer and director and the 3D concept.'
'Paul really comes with a different concept with this movie and no one has ever done a period movie in 3D and the concept and story suits very much to period gardens, costumes and the nature and back-drop of the movie completely take you to the period's time,' she added.

On the first day of Navratri, Sachin Tendulkar has moved into his new home in Bandra — a five-storeyed bungalow at 19-A, Perry Cross Street. It has reportedly cost the world's richest cricketer a whopping Rs 39 crore (about $7.9 million at today's prices).IANS reports:A battery of media-persons clicked away furiously as Sachin, clad in a simple striped T-shirt and trousers, took his first formal step into the bungalow with a glow of happiness on his face."I am really thrilled and happy today, especially for my mother and my family members," gushed Sachin on the occasion. His family members, mother, wife and children also followed suit and then everybody started admiring the cricket maestro’s ‘dream home’ in every nook and corner.Sachin spent his early childhood in Sahitya Sahawas Colony, Bandra east, and later honed his batting skills in the famous Shivaji Park grounds when he lived in Dadar. After scouting around all over Mumbai, he had zeroed in on and purchased the Bandra west property to construct his ‘dream home’ a few years ago at a whopping Rs.39 crore. He got it rebuilt from scratch and finally moved in there Wednesday.According to eyewitnesses at the ‘griha-pravesh,’ the bungalow includes two levels of basement parking with a capacity of more than four dozen vehicles. One of the floors will be dedicated only to storing and displaying the hundreds of medals, cups, honours and citations that the batsman has received during his two-decades-plus glorious cricket career.Local cricket fans had put up a special banner welcoming the distinguished new guest to the quiet neighbourhood and many people waited for a glimpse of their favourite cricket star.A couple of years ago, Sachin had sought easing of certain norms to enable him construct a private gymnasium in his bungalow, but it was rejected by the authorities.

Hrithik Roshan is the Greek God of India. Without a doubt. With looks that could kill, and a physique to die for, there isn’t a reason not to believe it. Wardrobe Basics

Considering the innumerable events, Hrithik has to fill in his calendar, there isn't a smarter choice than what Hrithik has made staple in his wardrobe– Jackets. Whether formal or casual, Hrithik has them in all variations and teams them up perfectly according to the occasion.

alt
Top Fashion Moment
For Hrithik, the top fashion moment was the movie 'Dhoom 2'. The movie captured Hrithik in his most stylish avatar opposite Aishwarya Rai who looked equally stunning. The role was so influential that, Hrithik's first statue at Madame Tussauds was captured in the 'D2' avatar.

Trademark Style
Hrithik is the perfect example of the classic man. Simple, sophisticated and restrained is how Hrithik's style can best be defined.

alt
Best Feature
Ask anyone on this planet, and they won't think twice before stating that Hrithik's best feature is his chiseled face, and we think the same too. The structure, the sun-kissed complexion and those deep eyes, all combine to make him so heavenly to look at.

alt

Hair Story

Hrithik's hairstyle has been a part of his experimentation for his film roles. Therefore, while he sported a crew cut for his role as an army officer in 'Lakshya', he had long-ish curly hair in 'Guzaarish'. However, the shoulder length wavy hair suits his best and the man probably knows this too, since he sports it more than often.

alt
Style Mentor
Hrithik has never really relied on one person in order to raise his style quotient. However, it is his wife who seems to have some amount of influence on him apart from the stylists of his films.

alt
Hrithik Roshan not only acts in a film but lends an additional dimension to his roles by styling his character accurately. For Hrithik, style is highly personal has a great significance especially in his career.

Akhtar won’t respond to Sachin

I wanted to be known, recognised: Akhtar
After kicking the hornet's nest with sensational claims in his autobiography 'Controversially Yours', former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar didn't shy away from raising a new controversy when he said that 'it is beyond his dignity to respond to Sachin's snub.'How To Sell A Cricket BookIn an interview with NewsX, the pacer took on Pakistan Cricket Board and Wasim Akram once again. He also clarified why Tendulkar was scared of him during the Faisalabad Test.
"Tendulkar was suffering from tennis elbow during that time and was having difficulty holding his bat (pulling), so we decided to target his head and get him out. We wanted to scare him off with barrage of bouncers. And I felt - that particular day - Sachin was scared, he was uncomfortable against me," Akhtar said.
Shoaib also maintained his stand that Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid were not match-winners - atleast when he was around. The speedster lashed out at PCB chairman Ijaz Butt, calling him a mad man. The pacer said "Ijaz Butt handled the match-fixing issue very badly, he just can't think straight. He has made Pakistan cricket a joke."Following criticism of Akhtar's remarks, Butt expressed concern that cricket ties between both boards could be strained. However, BCCI re-assured the PCB tat Akhtar's jibe will not affect the renewal of Pakistan-India cricket ties.On Wasim Akram, the pace bowler said it was not him but others in the team who did not want to play under him. "Though I respected Akram as a bowler, he was abusive and had bad attitude," Akhtar added.Akram earlier said that no one but the 'Rawalpindi Express' himself was responsible for the setbacks in his career. "I know, Shoaib knows and the entire world knows that he himself is responsible for destroying his career. Nobody helped him (in destroying his career)."Union minister and Mumbai Cricket Association president Vilasrao Deshmukh said that Shoaib Akhtar should apologise to Sachin Tendulkar for his controversial claims.A promotional event of Akhtar's book launch scheduled to be held today in Mumbai was called off because of the adverse reaction to his unflattering remarks against top Indian players in his tell-all autobiography. Bangalore has also said no to his book launch, which was supposed to take place on Tuesday.

Sexiest Mumbai models

sexy models

Name: Rachel Bayros

My fashion dream is: I have come a long way in India, now I have dreams to make it internationally.

Craziest OMG Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) moment: Nothing in particular has left an impression on me. I notice the fight between reality and pretence when it comes to this industry. Every person is at a deferent level, I have gathered a lot and learnt a lot from each person I meet. I have learnt how not to take everything seriously and take the good from every person I meet. If an OMG moment does happen, I would laugh about it and find it silly.

Name: Fiona Melissa Thomas

My fashion dream is: To become an internationally recognised print and/or catwalk model.

Craziest OMG LFW moment: A lot of the diva attitudes I've seen have made me think OMG but nothing too crazy...yet.

Name: Gia Johnson Singh

My fashion dream is: To continue working in the most beautiful places in the world. My dream is for that to never end!

Craziest OMG LFW moment: The quick outfit changes within a show can be crazy and totally frantic! Seeing all the girls running through backstage is a funny experience and sometimes our bodies move faster than our heads. I can quite honestly say I've tripped over and even tried to put both legs in the same trousers leg-hole. It's as if all my co-ordination goes out of the window. It's good to be able to laugh at yourself though.

Name: Ashika Pratt

My fashion dream is: Everyday I'm living in a fashion dream, each piece of clothing I get to wear at shows and shoots are pieces of art. I guess being able to take them home at the end of the day would be my dream.

tamara moss
Craziest OMG LFW moment: At fashion weeks there is always good food and a lot of it...anyone who says models don't eat, haven't seen us in between shows!

Name: Tamara Moss

My fashion dream: For models to be able to wear more skimpy clothes on the ramp and not be attacked by terrorist groups like the Shiv Sena.

Craziest OMG LFW moment: The media publishing pictures of the "wardrobe malfunction" that takes place at the shows. Clothes and a woman’s body are beautiful things. The Indian government even acknowledging a case against this is ridiculous. There are wrong people on the wrong side of the law. LFW is now getting more serious and I am glad.

Name: Mashoom Singha
My fashion dream is: To do a a brand campaign for an international designer.

Craziest OMG LFW moment: I feel LFW is quite sober. The Mai Mumbai show last year was a good platform, with Naomi Campbell walking the ramp which was very different.

Is it safe for pregnant women to wear high heels?

Well, I saw a photo of a pregnant (and fabulous) Lara Dutta attending Akshay Kumar's party. Scoring full points on the fashion scale, Lara easily gave stiff competition to her contemporaries such as Bipasha Basu, Genelia D'Souza and even style icon Sonam Kapoor. A typical blue bandage skirt from Hervé Léger teamed with a white blouse and nude Valentino pumps completed her look.

Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupati
But wait, am I only one freaking out looking at her high heels? Although the shoes are uber chic, am not too sure they are suitable for a mom-to-be. Here's another example:
Have you ever worn a pair of knee-high, 5-inch platform boots? It's like operating two mechanical bulls with your feet. Reality star and celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe is a pro at it. She also happens to be pregnant. Is it a health risk to be rocking mega heels in your third trimester? (See photo here)
The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists issued a warning for all pregnant women to avoid the extra lift. Shoes with too much height put both mom and baby in danger. "High heels alter your posture, shorten your calf muscles and place increased pressure on your back and knees," podiatrist Lorraine Jones told the BBC. "In pregnancy this places extra pressure on your joints when they are already under strain—which can result in a host of foot, leg and back problems."
High heels also leave pregnant women for vulnerable to spills. Because your center of gravity changes with a baby bump, balancing on heels is a challenge after 25 weeks, even for stiletto veterans. Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, and Lilly Allen all lost their footing while wearing high heels at appearances during their pregnancy.
I had to know more, so I did a little bit of research.
On Babycenter.com, the views are varied:
Ob-Gyn Catherine Lynch says: Yes, but it may not be comfortable. And as you get further along in the pregnancy you'll probably want to go to a lower heel, because your center of gravity will be constantly changing and walking in heels will be harder to manage. Usually at about 25 weeks I recommend going to a lower heel, especially if you're having a lot of back pain.
Pediatrician Jennifer Shu says: Wearing high heels (even wide-based, clunky ones) is not a good idea during pregnancy. That's because your weight increases and your body shape and center of gravity change, making you walk differently (and less steadily). A fall during pregnancy could hurt you and possibly your baby, so think twice before adding height to your growing girth.
All your moms-to-be, are you wearing heels? What are the Gyanecs saying? Leave your comments in the comments box.

Facebook tracks what you do online even when you're logged out

Canberra, Sept 26 (ANI): An Australian technologist has claimed that Facebook can track the web pages you visit, even when you are logged out of the social networking giant.
According to Wollongong-based Nik Cubrilovic, when the user is logged out of Facebook, rather than deleting its tracking cookies, the site merely modifies them, maintaining account information and other unique tokens that can be used to identify its users.
This simply means that any time you visit a web page with a Facebook button or widget, your browser is still sending personally identifiable information back to Facebook.
"Even if you are logged out, Facebook still knows and can track every page you visit," Cubrilovic wrote in a blog post.
"The only solution is to delete every Facebook cookie in your browser, or to use a separate browser for Facebook interactions," he added.
Cubrilovic said he tried to contact Facebook to inform it of his discovery but did not get a reply, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
He said there were significant risks to the privacy of users, particularly those using public terminals to access Facebook.
"Facebook are front-and-centre in the new privacy debate just as Microsoft were with security issues a decade ago," Cubrilovic said.
"The question is what it will take for Facebook to address privacy issues and to give their users the tools required to manage their privacy and to implement clear policies - not pages and pages of confusing legal documentation, and 'logout' not really meaning 'logout'," he added. (ANI)
